Terms, and how to get in

Worth two minutes before your first visit. Everything here is the same for every member.

Your membership

Three month minimum

Membership runs for a minimum of three months from the day you join. After that it carries on month to month and you can stop whenever you like.

Paid monthly by direct debit

Collected by GoCardless. You can cancel it through your bank at any time once the minimum term is up, and we are told the same day.

Your first key is free

A replacement key is £5, to cover the admin. You need one if you change phone, delete the app, or lose your phone — the registration link only ever works once.

Getting in

Your key is on your phone

There is no card and no fob. The Paxton Key app holds your key and the door reads it over Bluetooth.

Turn your phone off and back on after you register it

Not every phone needs it, but some put a newly installed app to sleep and a restart wakes it up. Ten seconds, and it saves a wasted trip.

At the door

Make sure Bluetooth is on, open the Paxton Key app before you get there, and hold your phone flat against the reader for a couple of seconds. It is not instant. If it will not let you in, restart the phone and try again — that fixes it nearly every time.

Your key is yours alone

Everybody coming in uses their own key

Every person who comes through the door must open it with their own key. That is what keeps the gym to the people who pay for it, and it is how we know who is in the building.

Please do not hold the door open for anybody

Not for a friend, not for somebody waiting outside, not for somebody who says they are a member. If they are, their own key will let them in.

The door is monitored

The gym is covered by CCTV and every door opening is recorded against the key that opened it. Letting somebody in on your key is the one thing that will cost you your membership.

Guests are welcome — properly

Bring somebody in on a day pass or a guest pass and they get their own key on their own phone. It takes two minutes and it costs you nothing.
