    Look how far
    we have come

We opened our doors on 5 September 2005, with two of us and a lot of building work — and some of the members training here today were with us from the first week.

    5 Sept 2005

    The doors open

Four thousand square feet over two floors, and most of the work done by the two of us who opened it.

Built for you, not for us

    Nobody should
    wait to train

Most gyms run on somebody else's software and you can tell — a form to print, a wait for somebody to process it, a card to collect. We wrote our own instead, and every bit of it was built round one thing: getting you through the door the moment you have paid, instead of days later.

    01

    You join

On your phone, wherever you are. No printing, no appointment, no forms to bring in.

    02

    We set you up

Your membership, your photo and your door access are made the moment your payment confirms.

    03

    Your key arrives

Seconds later, straight to your phone. Nothing to collect and no card to lose.

    04

    It keeps up

New phone, a question, a replacement key — sorted the same day, usually the same minute.

    Why bother

    What training
    actually does

Not the sales pitch. What lifting weights does to a body and a head, and how little of it you need to do.

    01

Your bones get stronger, not just your muscles

Bone is living tissue and it answers load. Put weight through it and it lays more down; leave it alone and it gives some back. That is why lifting matters more the older you get, not less — and why it is one of the few things you can do about bone density at all.

    02

Muscle is the thing you lose without asking

From your thirties onwards muscle goes quietly if nothing is asked of it, and it takes strength and balance with it. Resistance training is what stops that. The NHS asks for strengthening work on at least two days a week, covering legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders and arms — which is one sensible full-body session twice a week, not a life sentence.

    03

It does as much for your head as your body

Most people come in for how they look and stay for how it makes them feel. Training is one of the few reliable things anybody can do for their own mood, their sleep and their stress — and an hour where the only thing you have to think about is the next set is worth more than it sounds.

    04

Confidence comes from doing, not from looking

The change people do not expect is the one that shows up outside the gym. Turning up when you said you would, and adding a little each week, is a quiet sort of proof, and it does not stay in the building.

    05

You do not have to live in here

The guideline for adults is 150 minutes a week of moderate activity — half an hour, five days, and some of that is the walk here. Two strength sessions on top of that and you have met it. Consistency beats intensity every time, and nobody ever got strong in one heroic week.

    Swipe through →

Activity guidelines are the NHS's own, for adults aged 19 to 64.

    For personal trainers

    Are you a PT with
    nowhere to train them?

Then use ours. Four thousand square feet already kitted out and paid for — no lease, no fit‑out, no equipment on finance. Bring your clients and start tomorrow.

    01

Nothing to set up, nothing to buy

Four thousand square feet, three rooms and the equipment already here and paid for. No lease, no fit-out, no kit on finance, no waiting to open — you can take a client through the door tomorrow.

    02

Train when it suits you and them

The gym is open every hour of every day and the busy chart on this page is the real thing, straight off the door. Weekday mornings and early afternoons are genuinely quiet — you can have the resistance room to yourself and a client, at a time most gyms cannot offer you.

    03

Your clients, your business, your prices

We do not touch your client list, your prices or your payments. You pay us monthly for working out of here and the rest is yours. Nothing to explain to anybody and nothing taken off the top.

    04

    Their door access is handled

Each of your clients gets their own key on their own phone, on for the hours you are training them and off the rest of the time. You tell us when; nobody has to be let in and nobody holds a door open for anybody.

    05

You get your own signup form

With your own name on it, for your own clients, so nobody is filling in a gym membership form to come and see you.

    Ask about space

    For employers

    Have you got staff?
    Put a gym behind them

Britain loses forty million working days a year to ill health. A membership your people actually use is one of the cheaper things you can do about it — and we price it on how many you have.

    01

40 million working days, every year

That is what Great Britain loses to work‑related ill health and injury in a year, on the Health and Safety Executive's own figures. It is not an abstract number for a business of any size — it is rotas, overtime and work not getting done.

    02

The two biggest causes are the two training helps most

Of those days, 22.1 million go to stress, depression or anxiety and 7.1 million to musculoskeletal problems — backs, shoulders, knees. Nearly three quarters of all absence, and both are things regular training genuinely moves the needle on.

    03

It is the benefit people actually use

Most workplace perks go unclaimed. A gym two minutes off the A56, open every hour of every day, gets used by shift workers, early starters and people with children to drop off — which is most of a workforce round here.

    04

    One invoice, however many people

We set your staff up one at a time and bill you once a month for the lot. Nothing for HR to chase, nothing for payroll to work out per head, and no forms coming back to you half filled in.

    05

They are through the door the same day

Each person gets their own key on their own phone within seconds of being set up. Nobody collects a card, nobody waits for an induction, and nobody is standing at a desk that is not there.

    06

Add and remove people whenever you like

People join you and people leave. Tell us and we will turn a key on or off the same day, and the invoice follows — you are never paying for somebody who left in March.

    07

    Priced on your numbers

There is no off‑the‑shelf package, because ten people and a hundred are not the same conversation. Tell us roughly how many and we will give you a figure.

    08

    It says something about you

Somewhere to train, paid for, is a small thing people notice and mention — when they are deciding whether to join you, and when they are deciding whether to stay.
